Online Workplace Counselling

Support at your fingertips

Support at your fingertips

Online Counselling from Borders Counselling, allows you to access counselling support immediately, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

You can access counselling support using our secure Instant Chat service, or via E-mail, whichever option seems to suit you best. For more on how each of these options work please see our FAQ. The direction and focus of counselling is guided by you.

Our counselling service is confidential and the content of sessions is not discussed with your employer. It has long been recognised that in order for counselling to be beneficial it must be confidential. Your counsellor will discuss confidentiality in more depth during your first e-mail session (or the first time you sign in for an Instant Chat session). There are a small number of situations where counsellors are obliged to break confidentiality (for more on these situations please see our ethical statement).

Our counselling service is voluntary. You decide if you want or need it. Your manager or supervisor may suggest it as an option for you to consider, but you make the choice as to whether you want to take it up or not.

If you do decide to go ahead you will be assigned an experienced, professional counsellor who will work one-to-one with you for as long as required. Our counselling approach is based on brief intervention, which means that it most cases you will be working with your counsellor for 3 – 6 sessions
